This celebration of soul and design by renowned design team GamFratesi brings forth the beauty that can be achieved through design that makes your house or apartment feel like a home filled with character.

GamFratesi studio was founded by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. This award-winning Danish-Italian design duo is a rising star in the design world with their poetically organic, yet defined, style that bridges northern and southern design culture.

GamFratesi’s designs take their creative drive from a combination of tradition and the contemporary in an experimental approach with materials and techniques. With their dual traditional background, Stine and Enrico draw on classic Danish furniture and craft traditions, as well as the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. From this cross-cultural substrate they create furniture that respectfully reflects tradition while also featuring subtlety embedded stories, symbols and associations.

GamFratesi are the award winners of the 2015 Finn Juhl Architectural Prize, 2015 Milano Design Award, Guest of Honour at the 2014 Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair, 2013 Elle Decoration International Design Award and the Three-Year Working Grant from the Danish Arts Foundation.

Select the Perfect Shape for Modern Scandinavian Dining Tables

Select the Perfect Shape for Modern Scandinavian Dining Tables

Choosing the right shape for your dining table depends on several factors to ensure it complements your dining room both functionally and aesthetically. The shape of your dining table should complement the size and layout of your dining room, align with your style preferences, and meet your functional needs. Here’s a guide to help you select the perfect shape: 1. Room Size and Shape Square Room: A round or square table often works well, as these shapes can fit snugly and create a balanced look. Long Room: An oval or rectangular table can align with the room’s length, maximizing seating and fitting well within the space. 2. Seating Capacity Small Tables: Round or square tables are ideal for smaller dining areas, accommodating fewer people and creating a cozy atmosphere. Large Tables: Rectangular or oval tables offer more seating space and are suitable for larger dining rooms or for hosting gatherings. 3. Traffic Flow Round Tables: These are great for smaller spaces or to create a more casual, intimate setting. They allow for easier movement around the table and can help optimize space. Rectangular Tables: These fit well in long or narrow rooms and are efficient for maximizing seating and dining space. 4. Style and Aesthetics Round Tables: They often convey a casual, welcoming feel and can soften the room’s angles. Rectangular Tables: These add a formal, structured look and can make a room feel more organized. Oval Tables: Combine the benefits of round and rectangular shapes, providing a more elegant, less angular feel. 5. Functional Needs Expandable Tables: If you frequently host guests, consider a table with extension leaves. Both round and rectangular tables can offer this flexibility. Space-Saving Designs: For smaller rooms, a drop-leaf or wall-mounted table can be a practical option. Take, for instance, the Post Dining Table. This exquisite piece embodies Scandinavian simplicity, serenity, and functionality. Its frame, expertly crafted from solid wood, ensures durability, making it a timeless addition to any dining room. The design is both stylish and practical, offering ample legroom due to the strategically positioned legs and spaciousness beneath the table. This thoughtful construction reflects a commitment to quality and elegance, creating a dining experience that is both comfortable and sophisticated. Another exemplary piece is the #33 Round Extendable Dining Table. This table is a marvel of sleek design, effortlessly blending into any modern interior. Its extendable feature allows it to accommodate six to nine people, making it perfect for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. The simplicity of its design allows it to be styled to your liking, making it a versatile centre-piece. The craftsmanship of this table is evident in its seamless extension mechanism and smooth finish, making it a conversation starter in any room.

Ten Table Rectangular

In 2009, dk3 introduced the plank table to the Scandinavian market, and in 2019, founder Jacob Plejdrup, in collaboration with Danish designer Christian Troels, elevated this design with the anniversary Ten Table. Troels’ attention to detail and craftsmanship merges seamlessly with Plejdrup's minimalist approach, highlighting the natural beauty of wood. The Ten Table features solid wood construction, combining substantial size with a refined lightness. The elegant vertical grooves on the legs and the distinctive, organic-shaped tabletop, which has no straight lines and a gently curved edge, create a dynamic, flowing appearance. This curving movement extends to the extension leaves, giving the table a unique and fluid design.

WHAT OTHERS HAD TO SAY

Danish Design has always been my go-to place for furniture shopping. They have the most fashionable but also timeless pieces. And while some are not cheap they are made with great quality. We bought our favourite dining walnut table that is ever so timeless but also the most versatile being able to sit 6 and up to 10-12 when we extend it. It is our third time renovating and we are taking this favourite piece w us in our move… and more importantly we always get great service from danish design even after many years.

We fell in love with the skovby #33 table when we first saw it. It was made more amazing because we had just randomly wandered into Danish Design and the table met all our requirements with the unexpected benefit of expanding to cater for larger groups at parties. We waited in anticipation for this handcrafted table, and thanks to the team, we managed to get it before the expected wait time of 6 months and now it is a statement piece in our new place and we've received countless compliments on how special and well made this table is! Thank you Danish Design Co!
