Taking inspiration from the silhouette of a revers, this sofas gentle curved shell appears to envelope its users. The Modern Line Sofa by Greta M. Grossman was one of her most elegant and minimalistic designs. She designed this timeless sofa which embodies a sleek, feminine and light expressions shown through its elegant slender legs which are her signature designs. The Modern Line Sofa is one of the first to use industrialised technology for upholstery of sofas.

Greta Grossman (1906 – 1999) only really gained prominence as a designer when Gubi discovered and reproduced her designs. With a career spanning over a forty year period, she was an important designer that influenced many to follow her footsteps in a time period where female designers were few. Grossman drew inspiration from European Modernism and played a key role in defining the aesthetic of mid-Century Californian Modernism.

The most iconic furniture pieces she designed for Gubi would be the Grasshopper floor lamp and the Cobra floor and table lamps. Many of these won design awards and her work was frequently displayed in Sweden museums.

Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou form the Danish design duo known as Space Copenhagen. This studio has been widely known to push design boundaries but still manages to pour in personal vision into their genuine designs. Many of their furniture design work have been for clients in the hospitality and luxury retail sector – a field the studio is strongly known for.
